Kidz Klub, for children in Preschool - 12th grade, was started because of a need for an after school program. It involves devotions, mission work, homework time, a healthy snack, games and crafts, and of course street hockey.  We meet on Wednesday (when school is in session) from 2:30 - 6 p.m.  Children are picked up at school and transported to the church.  We have adult volunteers.  Children learn the importance of using one's good words instead of violence.  Some of our special activities include walking the bike trail, outdoor games, food drives, baking, knitting, bowling, beach time, acting, crafts as well as seasonal parties.

Every Sunday and Wednesday after school something special happens at White Lake Congregational UCC in Whitehall.  We gather to have fun, learn more about our belief in God and deepen our faith. We practice treating each other as a child of God as we study, work, eat and play together.  We pray together and listen to problems that each one of us might have.   Not only do we make new friends and deepen old friendships but we learn a lot about the adults who volunteer to work with us.  We are all God’s children, young and old and we treat each other with love and respect.   We encourage children to participate in worship. They may attend an acolyte class and then acolyte during worship or they may sign up to greet, usher or help with fellowship time following.

Spiritual: Everyone is encouraged to grow in faith & learn about God and the Bible. Sunday classes are grouped by grades and use the UCC curriculum. Confirmation is offered for youth in Jr. High and post confirmation and adult classes are offered too. Spiritual growth also takes place in many ways.

Worship
: Everyone is encouraged to attend worship every Sunday. A special time with the “Young at Heart” is offered on Sunday. All children are encouraged to stay for Kidz Klub devotions & to pray & read their Bible daily.

Fun Activities:
There is something fun for everyone at Kidz Klub. We play group games, do crafts, do a cooking project, go on field trips or use the computer but we always find time to play street hockey. Each player is encouraged to have their own hockey equipment & good sportsmanship and official rules are followed.

Homework: Youth are encouraged to do their homework.  Assistance provided.

CAN YOU HELP?
We are a non-for-profit organization and function with volunteers. Would you like to help?  We need the following:
.
1. Donations: $1 per week per child would help cover the cost of snacks, crafts, & game & hockey equipment.  Scholarships available.

2. Your Time: We could use another person who could provide transportation from the schools or for field trips. We also need people who would help with crafts & homework or be mentors/prayer partners.  If you like to play hockey come & play with us.

3.Snacks:  If you would like to provide a snack for a birthday or special occasion please contact the church office.

4. Prayer Partners or Mentors: We try  to pair each youth, who wants to participate, with an adult who would make contact with that child every month. You could call, send cards for their birthday or for a special recognition; pray for each other or do something special together.

Kidz Klub was originally started years ago when Revs. Pam & Keith Koebel felt there was a need for an after school program that would include devotions, homework time, a healthy snack, & fun activities. Today that importance continues with the addition of street hockey which is shared by at least 25-30 youth and 5-6 adults. Everyone is welcome including adults who would like to volunteer by helping the children or by providing transportation. We would also like grandparent mentors and or prayer partners.

Absolutely Everyone is Welcome!
